- Assessment of balance, posture, gait, and any underlying conditions affecting balance.
- Static balance exercises (e.g., standing on one leg, tandem standing).
- Dynamic balance exercises (e.g., walking on uneven surfaces, heel-to-toe walking).
- Focus on lower body muscles (e.g., quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, calves) to improve stability.
- Core strengthening exercises to enhance trunk control and overall stability.
- Exercises to improve awareness of body position in space (e.g., balance on a wobble board or foam pad).
- Coordination exercises to improve the ability to control movements smoothly (e.g., reaching while standing, practicing stepping over obstacles).
- Training in safe movements and techniques for getting up from a fall or avoiding a fall during daily tasks.
